Now it’s themed hotels

Thursday, 09 May, 2011 0

Visitors are familiar with themed parks, ala Walt Disney, and themed cruises but now comes a new one: themed hotel stays.

The Gaylord Company is teaming up with DreamWorks to feature animated characters in its four resorts in Nashville, Kissimmee, Maryland and Grapevine, Tex., the company announced.

Characters will include those found in “Shrek” and “Kung Fu Panda” and other popular cartoon characters. They will interact with guests at breakfasts (similar to Walt Disney characters at Disney properties), and participate in parades and holiday activities.

Themed trinkets will also be on sale.

The characters will start to appear this summer.
