NSW Awards night goes on sale
Tourism NSW and the Tourism Industry Council NSW have announced that tickets for the 2005 New South Wales Tourism Awards presentation and dinner would go on sale from today, October 17.
The NSW tourism industry’s annual highlight gala event, is being held on Thursday, November 24 in the Grand Harbour Ballroom at Star City Hotel and Casino in Sydney – Star City is the official hosting sponsor for the event.
The Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation, Sandra Nori said the black tie event would continue this year’s celebrations of 100 years of tourism in New South Wales.
“It will be a great night’s entertainment with Australian cricket legend Max Walker as the MC for the evening and a performance by ARIA Award winning seven-piece band Monsieur Camembert as well as other popular artists,” Ms Nori said.
“Star City’s Grand Harbour Ballroom is the perfect venue for the Tourism Awards as it offers guests spectacular views of the city skyline and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The adjoining Garden Terrace will be ideal for pre-dinner drinks,” she said.
Tickets will be available from Showbiz, the event’s official ticketing sponsor from October 17 for $190 per person but to book seats or a table of 11 prospective attendees should please phone (02) 8289 8636.
The evening is also being supported by official wine sponsor De Bortoli Wines and the President of the Tourism Industry Council NSW, Dennis Winchester said the gala event, promised to once again be the New South Wales tourism industry’s night of nights. He added, “It’s an opportunity to celebrate excellence in tourism while enjoying top entertainment and catching up with industry colleagues”.
Award entries in 31 categories including attractions, festivals and events, ecotourism, tour and transport operators, marketing, a range of accommodation styles, contributions from individuals and the young achiever award are currently being judged with the process coordinated by the Tourism Industry Council.
