Wednesday, 27 April 20163 min read
A tour bus carrying a group of Chinese tourists crashed into a road barrier in Taiwan, killing one and injured 24.
Three of the injured are thought to be in a serious condition.
The bus overturned as it swerved after hitting a truck. The driver was thrown out of the vehicle on impact and died.
Investigators hinted the crash may be a result of driver error but the 10-year old bus is also being inspected for any possible malfunction.
The two guides, who were also thrown out of the vehicle, are among the most seriously injured.
In all, 27 people were taken to three separate hospitals, mostly for minor injuries.
The tour group was on the third day of an eight day tour of Taiwan, heading to Taipei from Nantou’s Sun Moon Lake.
