Oneworld launches Visit Middle East pass

Wednesday, 30 October 20133 min read

The oneworld alliance will launch new fares on Friday, following the addition of Qatar Airways to the group.

Qatar is the first major Gulf carrier to join a global airline alliance, although Royal Jordanian – a smaller player – has been a oneworld member since 2007.

Following the addition of Qatar, the alliance has launched the ‘oneworld Visit Middle East pass’, featuring all flights within the Gulf and the surrounding area, totaling 30 destinations in 12 countries.

The oneworld Visit Middle East pass must be purchased in conjunction with an international flight to the region with any oneworld member airline.

It can include from three to 10 sectors in the region.

Prices are based on the cabin selected – Business or Economy – and the length of each sector, with prices of each flight from $75 (£47), excluding taxes and fees.

In addition, a special double miles offer is being made to cardholders of all oneworld member airlines’ frequent flyer programmes – including those of Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club – to mark the addition of Qatar to the alliance.
