Eurotunnel is to offer online hotel bookings via its website in a tie-up with Active Hotels.

The cross-channel vehicle carrying service will provide access to 8,500 European hotels via the online reservations provider.

Online accommodation booking is due to be launched at www.eurotunnel.com on December 1.

Eurotunnel head of marketing Jo Willacy said: “Customers will be able to choose from over 2,000 quality hotels within a three hour drive of our terminals in Folkestone and Calais/Coquelles, and over 8,500 further afield throughout Europe.”

Active Hotels sales director Dan Smith added: “Eurotunnel is an exciting and valuable addition to Active Hotels’ distribution network and we look forward to delivering a good value-for-money, user-friendly online hotel booking service.

“In addition, this is great news for all our accommodation suppliers, particularly in France and the UK who can expect increased levels of business as a direct result of this new deal.”
