Two-third of all online travel planners booked travel using the internet last year, up 8% from the previous year, according to the Travel Industry Association of America’s (TIA) latest study. More than 64 million travelers or 30% of the US adult population used the internet for travel. The most frequently purchased product continued to be airline tickets, reported by 75% of all online travel bookers. That was followed closely by accommodations at 71%, said the TIA. Online bookers spent an average of $2,600 in a year, up from $2,300 in 2002. Report by David Wilkening
