Only 15% of travel research is through agents
Only 15% of Brits are now using travel agents to research their holiday, according to a new survey.
Research, conducted by YouGov and Memonic, a web-based note-taking software company, found that 67% now use the internet to research, source and plan their holidays.
The survey did not look at how holidaymakers booked their trip after doing the research, nor did it examine what kinds of websites were being used for research.
Instead it focussed on the research process and found that:
74% of Brits that research holidays online are spending at least two hours researching their trip
20% spend eight hours or more
48% print off their holiday research
33% use all their bookmarks
21% write down the information
29% copy and paste into a ‘word’ document
When sorting through the information, 34% print out everything relevant while 31% review their hand written notes.
Of course, the point of the research was to allow Memonic to highlight its note-taking software which negates the use of a printer.
