Operators consider Papua New Guinea
A new air link is to provide improved access from the UK to Papua New Guinea.
The country’s airline Air Niugini plans a weekly Boeing 767 service between the capital Port Moresby and Hong Kong, offering through fares from London in co-operation with carriers serving the Asian hub.
Six UK tour operators visited the Papua New Guinea last month to consider offering new holiday programmes to the country.
Air Niugini CEO Wasanthan Kumarasi said: “This service into Hong Kong offers a number of excellent options for same day connections to and from Europe. The ground work has already been finalised in Hong Honk and we are looking forward to the service commencing on August 8.”
Head of UK sales Vikki Joyce said: “This new service will make it easier for UK holidaymakers to experience the wonderful cultural diversity that is Papua New Guinea.”
