Orbitz gets redesign
Orbitz has been redesigned in an effort to make booking easier.
Orbitz President and chief executive Jeff Katz, said customers had complained that the booking process was too complex.
In addition to reducing the booking process to three clicks, Orbitz has enhanced the information returned from a flight search. Users are now given aircraft equipment types, time between flights, identity of partner airlines on code-share flights, and information about connecting and overnight flights.
Customers can also now book up to nine tickets, and can undertake an “alternative airport search”, which will retrieve fares for flights to airports within a 70-mile radius. Orbitz also hopes the redesign has made the website “prettier” with enlarged typeface, a new colour scheme and new homepage tabs.
Head of marketing, Mike Sands said: “Industry research shows that ease-of-use is the number one factor determining a user’s favorite travel site.”
