Another cruise ship has been hit with a major gastrointestinal illness outbreak.

More than 140 were taken ill aboard Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

They got sick in a gastrointestinal illness outbreak during a Royal Caribbean International cruise.

It has not yet been confirmed as a norovirus outbreak and the cause is still unclear.

The health agency reported 134 guests and seven crew members were ill on the cruise that ended on July 11.

There were more than 3,900 aboard the ship on the Mexico cruise from Los Angeles.

Main symptoms were vomiting, cramps and diarrhea.

The cruise line’s outbreak mitigation efforts kicked in, with enhanced disinfection and cleaning taking place along with isolating ill guests and crew, the CDC said.

“The health and safety of our guests, crew, and the communities we visit are our top priority,” a cruise line spokesperson said.

The CDC has reported 18 cruise ship outbreaks so far this year, equaling the total for the whole of 2024.
