Over 400 agents expected at UK Cruise Convention

 More than 600 delegates, including over 400 travel agents, are expected to attend the ACE UK Cruise Convention this year.
 
A record six ships will be showcased at the June convention in Southampton – Celebrity Eclipse, Cunard’s QM2, Compagnie du Ponant’s Le Boréal, NCL’s new ship Norwegian Epic, P&O Cruises’ Azura and Princess Cruises’ Crown Princess.
 
Business sessions will centre around ways in which agents can increase their cruise sales including advice on how best to create a customer for life.
 
This will include a presentation from Google’s Andrew Pozniak on how agents can boost their online presence.  
 
Other sessions include digital marketing and social networking, river and niche cruising, and emerging cruise destinations.
 
Leading cruise executives including Carnival UK CEO David Dingle, NCL CEO Kevin Sheehan and Larry Pimentel, president and CEO of Azamara Club Cruises have been confirmed as speakers at the event which takes place on June 24-26.
 
They will cover topics including upselling to luxury, the value proposition of cruising and the state of the industry. 
 
TV personality Judith Chalmers will moderate the sessions.
 
Also lined up is a panel debate with Kathryn Beadle, sales & marketing director of Hurtigruten; Giles Hawke, sales & customer services director at Complete Cruise Solution; P&0 Cruises’ managing director Carol Marlow; Trudy Redfern, senior vice president of Silversea; Jo Rzymowska, associate vice president, Royal Caribbean; David Selby, Thomson head of cruise; and Cunard president and managing director Peter Shanks.
 
ACE director Flo Powell said: “I’m delighted we have such a strong line up of exceptional speakers, all highly knowledgeable and able to provide travel agents with the  latest news, trends and advice designed to help them turn high consumer interest into increased cruise business.”
 
The delegate rate for ACE members is £70 and for non-members £80.
