Pacific World closing down in Hong Kong

Travel firm Pacific World has announced the impending closure of its Hong Kong business, due to the travel downturn caused by the global pandemic.
It informed partners this week by memo it will close its Hong Kong office from 14 September 2020 ahead of ceasing all operations in November 2020.
Established 40 years ago in Hong Kong, it specialises mostly in conference and event management.
"Today’s reduced travel budgets and cancelled meetings and events are tomorrow’s pent-up demand and people will continue to meet for business events again. We believe the industry will recover over the next 12 to 18 months," it wrote in the memo.
Pacific World has a regional office in Singapore and locations across Asia, Europe and the Americas.
It is unclear if the Hong Kong closure will impact the rest of the business.
