Pakistan has doubled down on its airspace ban for India transit flights.
The three-month long ban will continue at least until June 14, a spokesperson for Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority said.
The current ban was until May 30, as the country waited for the confirmation of the Indian election results.
Although limited flight paths have been opened since India-Pakistan hostilities ignited again in February, the ban has caused lengthy detours adding hours to the flight time for some destinations.
Added fuel and staff costs have cost Air India millions while some flights have been suspended.
Pakistan controls a highly important aviation corridor used for Europe-Asia routes and sees hundreds of transiting flights pass through its airspace daily.
Pakistan closed its airspace after Indian air strikes on militant camps in Pakistan.
That was sparked by a terrorist attack on Indian security personnel which killed dozens.
India media outlets have speculated Pakistan could be ready to discuss ending the ban with the Indian governmennt now the election is over.
