Paramedics called after chemical leak in Haven holiday park pool
Paramedics were called to treat 40 people for breathing problems at a Haven Holiday park following a chemical leak in the swimming pool.
Around 30 of them had to be taken to hospital as a ‘precaution’ after the incident at the Wild Duck Holiday Park in Belton near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk.
Swimmers were treated for breathing and asthma problems.
A spokesman said the indoor swimming pool in the entertainment complex was evacuated on Sunday afternoon while police and fire and rescue were called to deal with the chlorine leak.
The pool was declared safe again around three hours later.
The pools and entertainment complex remained sealed off while health and safety officials carried out investigations.
