Passenger facing big FAA fine for blowing nose into blanket
Hefty fines for unruly behaviour in the skies keeps on coming. One maskless passenger is learning an expensive lesson that it is not a good idea to blow your nose into a blanket. The FAA is seeking a $10,500 fine against the passenger who ignored instructions to wear a mask and also coughed into the blanket.
Another man on a different JetBlue flight ‘yelled, slammed overhead bins, and shouted profanities at the cabin crew,’ the FAA said. He will be fined $9,000.
The federal agency has a zero-tolerance policy against disruptive behavior which most commonly stems from passengers’ refusal to wear a mask, This often leads to a flight ban but occasionally the situation escalates into verbal or a physical altercation.
