An investigation is under way at New York JFK airport after a man was found holed up in the cockpit of a JetBlue plane after arriving on a flight from the Dominican Republic.
Crew members discovered the man inside the cockpit a short time after all other passengers had deplaned.
Jarrett Stroud, 26, of Atlantic City was found sitting in the first officer’s seat of Jetblue Flight 810, who was hiding there as he believed a group of people were about to harm him.
He was removed from the plane by airline staff and later admitted to Jamaica Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
"A customer failed to deplane from JetBlue flight 810 and entered the cockpit. Upon observation, crew members immediately removed the customer from the aircraft and he was turned over to the Port Authority Police Department.
Stroud has been charged with third-degree criminal trespassing according to the Queens District Attorney’s office.
