Pearl is CLIA’s newest member
Pearl Seas Cruises, an offshore affiliate of American Cruise Lines Inc., is the latest member to join Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).
Pearl brings to 20 the number of CLIA-member cruise lines, which represents almost 97% of the cruise capacity of North America.
CLIA also has 17,000 travel agencies, making it the largest travel industry association based on agency membership, according to CLIA.
Pearl will sail to the Canadian Maritimes, Newfoundland, New England and the Caribbean and other destinations small enough to visit off-the-beaten-path. The line’s first ship, which will carry 165 passengers, is set to start service in 2008.
Pearl will offer passengers a dining salon with one unhurried setting, several lounges, a well-stocked library and a state-of-the-art spa. Ships will also have internet access and large picture windows that actually open.
“The line’s new ships will offer vacationers a new choice in the luxury segment of the market,” said Terry L. Dale, CLIA president and CEO.
