Plans abandoned to add booster requirement for Hawaii travel

Hawaii will now not make booster shots necessary to keep full vaccination status for the state’s Safe Travels program. The current rules will remain unchanged, despite speculation a third shot would be required to enter restaurants and other facilities.
Governor David Ige said declining cases make it unnecessary but the indoor mask mandate would remain in place. Maui brought in a booster requirement last month but dropped it for dining out less than two weeks later as Covid cases declined.
