Prince Harry’s favourite Vegas hotel ramps up security following mass shooting
An exclusive Las Vegas hotel, which is an old haunt of Prince Harry, has ramped up security following the biggest mass shooting in US history.
Guests entering the Wynn Resort are now being scanned by hand-held metal detector wands, which has caused delays on guests entering the hotel.
Sister property Encore has also stepped up bag checks for all guest and visitors.
Prince Harry was staying in a suite at the Wynn Encore Resort when he was snapped frolicking naked at a party in Sin City in August 2012. He is believed to have taken an eight-room suite at the hotel.
On TV news footage, long lines were seen forming to enter the Wynn since it imposed new security checks.
At least 59 people were killed and more than 500 injured when retiree Stephen Paddock went on a shooting rampage from a 32nd-floor room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, where a huge arsenal of firepower was found.
However, the city’s mayor said on national TV that no amount of security measures can stop a determined ‘nutjob’ from causing mayhem. "Can we ever do anything about that one percent? Do we want to tie down everybody’s freedom because we have a nut and piece of garbage like this? We’re not about going into people’s private belongings," said Carolyn Goodman.
