Probe after BA's 'unwell' pilots led to emergency landing

Monday, 9 January 20123 min read

An investigation has been launched after two BA pilots almost 'passed out' at the controls.

The captain and first officer both reported feeling light headed as the aircraft, which had taken off from Heathrow, was climbing at 20,000 feet, reports the Daily Mail.

The pilots, on a London to Glasgow flight, were supplied with oxygen masks and requested an emergency return to Heathrow.

The incident which happened last month is now being investigated by the Air Accident Investigation Branch.

A spokesman for BA confirmed that both pilots had become 'unwell' and followed procedures by donning oxygen masks and returning to Heathrow.
