PSA pilots, airline reach tentative agreement
PSA pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), have reached a tentative agreement with PSA Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of US Airways Group, Inc. after close to four years of negotiations.
PSA Airlines is a regional airline, headquartered in Vandalia, Ohio. It flies under the US Airways Express brand for US Airways.
"With this agreement, our Negotiating Committee accomplished our goal of gaining much-needed improvements for our pilots while providing opportunities for us to work with our management in planning for the future of the airline," said Capt. Jesse Coeling, chairman of ALPA’s PSA chapter. "We believe this agreement achieves that important balance between rewarding PSA pilots for their efforts in making our airline one of the best-performing express operations in the US Airways system, and providing the necessary stability for PSA’s and US Airways’ continued success going forward."
Pending approval of full contract language by ALPA and PSA management, the tentative agreement will be presented for acceptance by the PSA Master Executive Council (MEC)—the next step before it goes to the pilots for a ratification vote.
