Punta Gorda tourism back in business after hurricane
The Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach area is back in business.
Following a recovery and clean up period after Hurricane Milton, Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau says 95% of local businesses, restaurants, and accommodations are now fully operational.
The region is ready to welcome visitors again.
There has been a dedicated effort from local authorities, residents, and business owners to get Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach back on its feet.
Though public beaches remain temporarily closed as clean-up and restoration work continues, visitors can still enjoy a wide range of activities.
These include visits to nature preserves, fishing charters, golf, kayaking, hiking, and biking.
“We are incredibly proud of how our community has come together to reopen so quickly,” said Sean Doherty, Tourism Director of the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau.
“While Hurricane Milton posed a significant challenge, our commitment to providing a safe, enjoyable experience for our visitors has never wavered.”
Regular updates on beach access and other relevant visitor information wll be posted on the destination’s website and social media channels.
“We’re open and eager to share our resilience and hospitality with the world,” Doherty added.
