Qantas delays free Wi-Fi roll-out

Sunday, 26 March 20173 min read
Qantas has delayed the initial launch of free inflight Wi-Fi this week due to technical difficulties.
The airline was due to unveil the service this week with a media launch and test flight but says it still expects to roll it out by the middle of the year.
"We’ve been testing in-flight Wi-Fi for several weeks and the performance has been strong. We were preparing to open it up to media and customers this week as we continue our fine-tuning over the next few months, but some stability issues have emerged that we need to fix before customers can use it," a Qantas statement said.
Those issues are being worked out with providers NBN and ViaSat, the airline says.
"We remain on track for a broader roll out to the Qantas domestic fleet from mid-2017."
