Qantas deploying office staff in ground handling
Struggling with short staffing amid a surge in travel demand, Qantas plans to deploy office staff in airports during peak travel demand.
According to a memo they have been assert to assist with non-safety critical tasks during July.
Tasks include helping to find lost baggage and help last minute travellers through security, according to the ‘Airports Peak Contingency Plans’ memo addressed to Jetstar workers .
Qantas used management staff to assist terminal and baggage operations during Easter.
