Qantas extends free unlimited flight changes until early 2022

Qantas has extended its ‘flexible flying’ service, offering unlimited fight changes, until at least January 2022.

It extended the initiative due to the sudden nature of continued border closures and the impact it is having on travel demand.

"Customers have told us that sudden changes to border restrictions by state governments are giving them second thoughts about going on holidays or taking a business trip," said Qantas Chief Customer Officer Stephanie Tully.

"To help manage the uncertainty, we’ve introduced the highest level of flexibility in the market. By giving customers unlimited flight date changes for almost a year, we think it will encourage more people to book."

It coincides with the launch of Qantas’ one million seats sale, with fares to dozens of destinations starting from $99.

The $99 flights include Sydney to Byron Bay, while $124 fares are available from Brisbane to Cairns.

Additionally, Qantas plans to resume hot food service on some flights, and complimentary beer and wine will now be offered on selected short haul and regional flights.
