Qatar Airways is adding more flights to Thailand.

The airline will launch a four times a week seasonal service to Northern Thai hotspot Chiang Mai from December 2017 until May 2018.

Chiang Mai becomes Qatar Air’s fourth Thai destination after Bangkok, Phuket and Krabi.

"Our existing services to Phuket, Krabi and Bangkok are already incredibly popular, especially with customers from European countries such as the UK, France and Germany. Therefore, we are delighted to announce yet another destination, offering our renowned five-star service between Doha and Chiang Mai for leisure travellers," said airline CEO Akbar Al Baker.

Qatar Airways first began flying to Thailand more than 20 years ago and the new service will take the number of weekly flights to Thailand to 60.

The Krabi route will be updated to daily service later this year.
