Radisson owner Carlson exploring merger or sale

There could more hotel consolidation on the horizon with Carlson Cos Inc., parent of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, reportedly exploring a sale or merger of its hotel business.
The Wall Street Journal reports it has instructed Morgan Stanley to proceed with sounding out potential suitors.
Carlson Rezidor operates about 1,100 hotels globally.
Its brands include the Quorvus Collection, Radisson Hotels, Country Inns & Suites, and Park Plaza Hotels.
Carlson’s hotel business generated about $7.8 billion in revenue in 2014.
Minnesota-based Carlson also operates business travel management giant Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
The company is aware of the speculation but declined to comment.
