Rail tickets expands products
Rail Tickets has launched an expanded 2006 product range including nine new rail passes in Europe, two Canadian passes and the Scenic Rail Pass in New Zealand.
The increased offerings reflect the continuing growth in the popularity of international rail travel, and of Rail Tickets as a specialist train travel wholesaler.
“Rail travel takes the stress out of touring in foreign countries, and enables travellers to fully appreciate the scenery around them,” said Debbie Chandler, Rail Tickets Product Manager. “Passengers can travel from city centre to city centre, instead of having to navigate through traffic or unfamiliar territory, and the on board dining facilities ensure that travellers arrive sustained and relaxed.”
In Europe, Rail Tickets has added four two-country passes and five new single-country passes, to offer coverage in a total of 18 countries this year. The new Eurail passes cover Benelux-France, France-Germany, Germany-Austria and Germany-Switzerland, plus single-market passes in Hungary, Poland, Romania, Norway and Sweden.
Across the Atlantic, Rail Tickets has also moved into Canada, offering VIA Rail’s Canrailpass and Corridor Pass.
The Canrailpass allows 12 days unlimited travel during a 30 day period on the VIA Rail network, which extends throughout Canada from the Atlantic to the Pacific coasts, and north to Hudson Bay.
The VIA Rail Corridor Pass is more specialised, offering 10 days travel in southern Quebec and southern Ontario, covering major centres including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec and spectacular Niagara Falls.
In New Zealand, the Scenic Rail Pass allows travellers to explore New Zealand on the Tranz Scenic Rail network, with seven day or one-month tickets. They include an InterIslander ferry crossing between the North and South Islands, enabling travellers to enjoy the best of both islands in one of the world’s most beautiful destinations.
The 36-page 2006 brochure for Rail Tickets is now available. For more information or to book a rail pass, visit www.railtickets.com.au or call the toll-free reservations number 1300 360 823.
