Rat delays Air India flight for nearly 12 hours
Rodent trouble on an Air India plane left passengers extremely ratty, subjecting them to a delay of nearly 12 hours.
The Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam was delayed after a rat was found aboard the plane.
It took hours for the rat to be captured and then the plane underwent a full fumigation.
The plane was then fully inspected but no damage was caused by the rat.
Rodents like to gnaw through wires which can be potentially dangerous for aircraft safety.
Passengers of the flight and a subsequent service later in the day were miffed over a lack of communication from Air India, with many venting their frustration on social media.
Air India flight AI-952 was originally scheduled for a 6.00am departure but finally took off at 5.30pm.
