Red Lion Hotels now offering member-only rates to Expedia customers

Red Lion Hotels has formed a first of its kind partnership with Expedia Inc, offering Red Lion members-only rates to customers of Expedia.com and Hotels.com.
When booking the Red Lion member rate on either of the two sites customers accrue points through Expedia+ or Hotels.com Rewards respectively.
Users can also sign up for Red Lion’s Hello Rewards program.
"Our approach is to be extremely respectful of the guest and the channel they chose to make their booking, so we in turn view OTAs like Expedia as partners," said Red Lion Hotels CMO, Bill Linehan.
"We make sure we leverage their marketing and innovation investments to drive both customer acquisition and future loyalty."
The partnership has been live for a few weeks and is the first of its type for Expedia.
The OTA plans to develop partnerships with other hotel chains to offer members-only loyalty rates.
"Many of our partners are looking for ways to differentiate themselves, so by providing them with new and unique offerings that improve their visibility in the Expedia marketplace, while delivering incremental business that benefits their bottom line, we’re investing in our long-term partnership," said Melissa Maher, senior vice president of Expedia’s global partner group.
