Regent cruises to top spot in Conde Nast Traveler Awards
Ultra luxury cruise company Regent Seven Seas Cruises has won the coveted ‘Best Large-Ship Cruise Line’ in the 2006 Condé Nast Traveler 19th annual Readers’ Choice Awards Poll, beating Crystal who had previously held the title for eleven years.
More than 21,000 readers of Condé Nast Traveler, one of the World’s luxury travel publications, voted for Regent in this category representing ships which cater to over 500 guests onboard. The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, one of the highest accolades in the travel industry, celebrate the best of the best in hotels, airlines, resorts, cruise lines, cities and islands. Readers voted on a series of service elements including activities, facilities, cabins, crew/service, design,/layout, food/dining and itineraries. The award was accepted by Mark Conroy, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises and the ceremony was televised on the Travel Channel on October 25.
Regent’s fleet features some of the highest space per guest and crew per guest ratios at sea. It calls on 300 ports worldwide across all seven continents. This latest accolade is yet another success for Regent – having recently won the “World’s Leading Luxury Cruise Line” award 2006 at the 13th Annual World Travel Awards held in Turks & Caicos last month.
