REGISTRATION OPENS FOR SECOND PACIFIC ASIA TRAVEL ASSOCATION (PATA) LONDON EXCHANGE

Monday, 27 Jan, 2010 0

Travel trade buyers can now register for the second annual PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) Exchange.

The event, which will be held at Australia House in London on March 15, will feature over 50 of the largest and most respected travel and tourism brands from across the Asia Pacific region.

PATA Exchange operates on an appointment-based system, providing UK travel trade professionals with a unique opportunity to talk to representatives from destination management companies, hotel chains and tourist boards, within one easy forum.

The number of exhibitors registered for PATA Exchange 2010 has already exceeded that of the inaugural event last year and includes hotel groups such as Hilton, Taj, Marriott, Langham and Dusit International and the tourist boards of, among others, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

The mix of exhibitors will include both the leading names from the region as well as niche and specialist businesses such as Colombo Fort Hotels and Samai Villas in Bali (recently voted Indonesia’s leading resort in the World Travel Awards 2009), and the tourist boards of Samoa, the Cook Islands and Fiji.

Ian Hawkes, executive director of the PATA UK Chapter, says: “To have seen this new event established and grow so quickly is tremendous recognition of the effectiveness of the format as well as the demand among the UK travel trade to have direct access to some of the key names in Asia Pacific tourism within a forum that makes maximum use of valuable time.”

PATA Exchange is free to attend for accredited travel buyers – both operators and retailers – and appointments can be booked through the online diary system which can be accessed at www.pataexchange.com
