Royal Caribbean says it has completed roll out of its high-speed Internet service VOOM fleet-wide on 24 ships.
Dubbed a ‘game changer’ and the fastest Internet service at sea, VOOM lets cruisers stream music and video content on devices.
"VOOM is revolutionizing the onboard experience for our guests as well as for our crew and it is truly a game-changer for the industry," said Michael Bayley, CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
"Everything our guests and crew can do online at home, they will now be able to do from onboard all of our ships around the world."
Each ship offers two separate VOOM packages to purchase.
The basic Surf package costs $12.99 per device per day while Surf and Stream, which offers streaming quality bandwidth, is priced at $17.99 per device per day.
The line says it has made ‘a significant investment’ to upgrade shipboard connectivity in recent years and VOOM provides at least twice the Internet speed compared to its previous service.
