Royal Caribbean has agreed an extension with the Maryland Port Administration to continue sailing out of Baltimore for four more years.
The new deal is effective through June 2020 and Royal Caribbean’s Grandeur of the Seas will continue to sail from the port.
It currently offers cruises to the Bahamas, Bermuda, the Caribbean, New England and Canada.
The port is the 11th busiest in the US and handled 200,000 cruise passengers last year, port officials said.
"Our administration is pleased that Royal Caribbean has made a long-term commitment to Maryland and to the Port of Baltimore. Through this partnership, vacationers will continue to have a popular and convenient cruising option that provides a significant boost to Maryland’s economy for years to come," Gov. Larry Hogan said in a statement.
Port officials claim Baltimore area hotels, dining and entertainment businesses benefit by $90 million annually from cruise passengers.
