Royal Caribbean Cruises has announced an order for a fifth Quantum class ship, which is scheduled for delivery in 2020.
The ship will be constructed at Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.
"These ships have been received with excitement and performed exceptionally well across the globe," said Richard Fain, Royal Caribbean CEO.
"We fully expect that momentum to continue as we add to this innovative class of ships."
The third Quantum class ship Oasis of the Seas is due to set sail in April next year, while the as yet unnamed fourth will debut some time in 2019.
The first two Quantum vessels – Quantum of the Seas and the Anthem of the Seas – are already in service.
"At Royal Caribbean we are focused on continuously improving efficiency and sustainability, and the fifth Quantum class vessel will be clear evidence of this," said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
