Ryanair Captain releases charity single in memory of colleague
A Ryanair Captain has written and released a charity single in memory of a fellow captain and close friend who passed away in January after losing his battle with cancer.
Sean Kelly, Base Captain at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, wrote the single "Drive Her On" as a tribute to Eamon Wall (pictured below), a fellow Ryanair captain and singer-songwriter from Callan in Co. Kilkenny.
"I had the pleasure of both playing music and flying with Eamon and witnessed at first hand his sublime talent for both," said Kelly.
"His passing has left a huge hole in the lives of his family, friends and colleagues and none that met him will ever forget him.
"When he passed away, we had a night here in Scotland for all those who couldn’t make his funeral. On that night I played "Drive Her On", a song I had written about Eamon that seemed to capture his spirit. It went down so well that we decided to release it as a charity single."
All proceeds from the sale of the single will be donated to the Carlow Kilkenny Home Care Team, a voluntary organisation who looked after Eamon in his last days and weeks.
Drive Her On (The Ballad Of Eamon Wall) is available as a download now from iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon, Spotify and all good online stores.
