Ryanair confirms it is pulling out of London Southend Airport

Ryanair has confirmed it is shutting down it base at London Southend Airport. Operations will cease from 1 November as a direct result of the Covid pandemic. The airline hasn’t said yet whether scheduled winter season flights will be scrapped or rerouted from another airport.
The airline’ started flights from London Southend in 2019 on 16 routes including Barcelona, Corfu, Milan and Venice.
Rival easyJet also pulled out of the airport in 2020 during the height of the pandemic travel restrictions.
