Ryanair has been forced to stop its flights to Sicily for an indefinite period due to military action in Libya.

From today, the airline is re-routing all flights from Trapani Airport to Palermo airport, about 35 miles away.

Trapani airport, on the south western tip of Sicily, is also used as a military base.
