Ryanair unveils ‘Remain’ message on aircraft
Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary has used the official opening of the airline’s new European training centre at Stansted to underline his support for the ‘Remain’ campaign.
O’Leary was joined by pro-Europe politicians Chancellor George Osborne, Vince Cable and Ed Balls for a photo opportunity in front of one of the Ryanair aircraft that has been emblazoned with the message ‘Ryanair says vote Remain in Europe’.
The new European training centre has opened as part of Ryanair’s plan to create 1,000 new jobs in Europe, 450 of them in the UK.
But O’Leary says Britain must vote ‘remain’ on June 23 to encourage foreign inward investment and job creation.
He said: "We’re stronger, safer and better off in the European Union."
Osborne officially opened the training centre and said: "Attracting the investment Britain needs from around the world in order to keep growing and creating good jobs here at home is key if we are to create lasting economic security for working people."
