Sabre reaches new deal with thetrainline.com
Online train ticket retailer thetrainline.com has reached a deal with Sabre to make it easier for UK travel agents to book rail travel.
The deal will give agents access to thetrainline's booking system (TOTI), which they can use to book tickets and select seats from online seating plns.
Integration of the thetrainline.com system will also allow consultants to view all bookings made via TOTI's client-facing self-booking tool and other online-booking tool partners such as Sabre-owned self-booking tool GetThere.
Thetrainline's head of international Ian Chaplin said: "We are excited by the opportunity to be able to connect with Sabre's UK and global subscribers.
"With our international sales licence, our UK rail proposition is ideal for global distributors such as Sabre for whom it can enhance their content range to their subscribers."
Sabre Travel Network vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Dean Bibb said: "This agreement is an important rail-content enhancement for our agency customers.
"The future of rail distribution in Europe is high on the agenda of corporates and travel management companies throughout Europe. It is therefore critical that we provide the travel trade with the content and technology the need to deliver value to their customers and, in turn, grow their businesses."
