San Jose Convention Center to double space

Sunday, 17 Mar, 2005 0

Construction began on the San Jose Convention Center expansion, which will increase an 80,000 square foot South Hall space by more than half, according to Team San Jose.

The expansion is to the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. It is scheduled for a June opening in time to host the eBay Live!2005 Community Conference.

“The new facility will allow us to serve a wider array of clients,” said Michael Ross, CEO of Team San Jose.

The new $6 million hall will serve as an overflow facility, extending the convention center’s exhibit capacity from 143,000 to 223,000 square feet.

Team San Jose is a public benefit corporation founded in 2003 to more effectively serve the convention business.
