Saudi Arabia building offshore tourism resort on oil rig
Still new to tourism, Saudi Arabia is planning a first-of-its-kind tourism project. It will develop an.overwater tourism destination housed on offshore oil rigs.
‘THE RIG’ will cover 150,000 square metres and feature three hotels, restaurants, helipads, and various activities, including extreme sports, according to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. It said it will follow global standards and best practices to ensure sustainable practices to protect the marine environment.
