Saudi, Iran to resume air links
Long-time foes Saudi Arabia and Iran have agreed to restart commercial flights between the two countries.
It will boost tourism and stimulate the Saudi aviation sector.
It allows Saudi flights in Iran airspace, which in turn will open up new markets.
“Saudi Arabia has strong aviation aspirations, and growth in Iran will support this,” the CAPA Center for Aviation, said.
They are also reopening embassies in each other’s country for the first time in seven years.
It follows a China-brokered meeting last week, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The agreement will also facilitate government and business visits between the two nations.
