Singapore Airlines backed budget carrier Scoot will take over a number of routes currently served by sister airline SilkAir.
Scoot will take over routes in phases over the next two years as SilkAir merges its operations with parent SIA.
The route changes are subject to regulatory approval and will take place from April 2019 and through the second half of 2020.
It is part of a major group wide restructuring for SIA.
It begins with the shifting of Luang Parabang and Ventiane flights to Scoot in April 2019.
That will be followed by Indian destinations, flights to China including Fuzhou and Wuhan, Chiang Mai and Kota Kinabalu during 2019.
SilkAir’s Indonesian network will also transfer in May-June 2020
"The route review will strengthen the SIA Group for the long term, with the right vehicles in our portfolio of airlines deployed to the right markets," said CEO Goh Choon Phong.
In addition Scoot will drop its Hawaii service in June 2019, due to weak demand, and shift its Shenzhen and Kochi, India flights to SilkAir during 2019.
Scoot’s Bengaluru and Chennai services will then be operated by SIA in May 2019 and May 2020 respectively.
Scoot’s fleet is also being expanded with the transfer of 14 Boeing 737s from SilkAir.
