Troubled carrier Seaport Airlines looks to have finally succumbed to the inevitable.
The Portland based airline has ceased operations as of late Tuesday and faces bankruptcy liquidation.
SeaPort filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February a bid to turn around its fortunes.
A court judge ordered that Chapter 11 bankruptcy to be converted to Chapter 7 liquidation.
All aircraft have been grounded according to an attorney for the airline’s creditors.
It flew single-engine Cessna Caravan aircraft.
A statement from SeaPort president Tim Sieber said: "This is a very sad day for our employees, shareholders, and the communities we serve. While we made great strides, a successful financial reorganization did not appear possible and we were forced to make the difficult decision to cease operations."
The bankruptcy filing stated the airline had more than 200 creditors.
Customers with valid reservations are requested to seek refunds via their credit card company.
