SeaWorld eyes USD3.4 billion takeover of park operator Cedar Fair

SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. has made an unsolicited bid to significantly expand its portfolio of theme park locations.
It wants to buy Cedar Fair and its amusement parks in North America in a non-binding deal for $3.4 billion.
Cedar Fair owns 13 parks in the US and Canada including Carowinds, Cedar Point, California’s Knott’s Berry Farm and Kings Dominion in Virginia.
It would more than double the number of parks.
Ohio-based Cedar Fair publically confirmed it was considering the bid, although analysts believe the offer is likely too low.
In 2019 Six Flags tried and failed in a $4 billion bid to take over Cedar Fair.
