Second day of cancellations after snowstorm hits Turkey

Turkish Airlines has had to cancel a further 107 flights today flowing a snowstorm in Istanbul which grounded planes yesterday.

70% of its services – some 692 flights – were cancelled yesterday after as much as 60cm of snow, according to flight tracking website, Flight Aware.

Ataturk Airport was also temporarily closed but has since reopened.

Today, 13% of its flights have been cancelled at Istanbul Ataturk, Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen and Ankara Esenboga Havalimani Airports.
