Several tourists injured in Florida airboat collision
More than a dozen people were injured after two Florida airboats carrying tourists collided.
Two Florida airboat crashed into each other during Everglade area tours on Cypress Lake in Kenansvill at the Wild Florida park
Thirteen people were taken to hospital after the crash on Cypress Lake in Kenansville.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has not said what the extent of the injuries are.
“Two airboats collided while doing routine tours, resulting in passenger injuries. We would like to apologize to all visitors involved,” operator Wild Florida said.
Wild Florida is situated about 40 miles south of Orlando.
There were a combined 28 people on the two boats.
The US Coast Guard is investigating.
“We are also conducting our own internal investigation,” Wild Florida said.
The company offers boat rides through the Everglades headwaters.
It also has a gator park and safari park attraction.
