The Seychelles is introducing a new biometric passport system.

IN Groupe was awarded the tender to produce the new biometric system.

The company says it will be one of the most advanced on the African continent.

It incorporates a polycarbonate data page with a holographic device and an electronic chip in the eCover.

It contains biometric data and a digital signature.

IN Groupe’s team supported local authorities in setting up the data collection and processing for the biometric passport system.

Errol Fonseka, Minister of Home Affairs said it will boost border security and enhance identity fraud detection.

According to the Henley Passport Index, the Seychelles passport is ranked number one in Africa.
