Shake-up by cruise specialist agents
The Leading Cruise Agents of the UK (The LCA) is aiming to double its membership over the next 12 months with a number of initiatives.
It is redefining the responsibilities of its directors, adding a new industry figure to its Board and increasing consumer awareness.
From May 1, Stuart Perl from Peter Deilmann River & Ocean Cruises joins the board of The LCA, which consists of five members and two associate members.
Each director has been assigned a specific area of responsibility to drive forward and develop, with two directors taking responsibility for growing membership.
LCA chair Clare Dudley explained: “We have invested a lot of time over the last few months working out what we need to drive us forward and then finding ways to achieve it.
“We are all delighted that Stuart has taken up a board director role to help us and shown his commitment to the driving the LCA forward.
“All the directors work on a voluntary basis and are hugely committed to taking the LCA to the next level – one which will provide excellent value for money for agents who join us.â€
Responsibilities have been split as follows:
Membership – Ian Hopley, Travelux and Rachel Wright, Cruise Select
Communications – Clare Dudley, Fred Olsen Travel
Marketing & Promotions – Stuart Perl, Peter Deilmann
Associate Membership – Mike Evans, Fred Olsen Cruises
Public Relations – Kevin Griffin, The Cruise People
